Tornados. Tornados. Rain & Thunder.

The image above may not be very frightening... what does it bring to your mind? Summer storm. Thunder clouds. What about: tornados?

Pictured above is a scene from my drive home... at least one tornado already committed catastrophic damage in Indianapolis today. Even while my work day was seeing the end of the tunnel our ears were quite perked as we listened to the various storm signals going off around Carmel's central streets. The radio screamed at us, the other alerts joined with the offsets of our machines at my job and created quite a ruckus to my ear drums.

Rainy days are normally my favorite... especially when they bring relief to high temperatures. The mellow breezes relax muscles and open the mind to new thoughts and ideas.

Rainy breezes and traffic lights

Drippy days indy... But so beautiful!!
I wish I had a camera when I walked to the intersection here in Broadripple. The sky was dark. Clouds swirling like a cauldron!! Then the Starbucks sign nest to me went out...

Flashback photos

It has now been about three and a half years since these two were married. I was going through pictures this past weekend and I uncovered some buried treasure!! Wishing I had photos of their beautiful children to share too!

What old pictures do you enjoy reviewing? I always enjoy family albums too!

Freedom & fresh bread

Do you ever feel trapped? Stuck in a particular situation? Well today my dear husband and I decided escape was high in demand. We chose to vanish for a day... It was lovely!

This evening I made rolls to accompany our salad dinner. The bread bubbled when I whisked it... Then slowly rose when placed atop a warming stove. We enjoyed the warm rolls. Anyone like the recipe?

Oktoberfest 2010

Cleveland, Ohio : Oktoberfest 2010

Oktoberfest: a festival full of food, music and of course beer- to celebrate German traditions and heritage. Today I stumbled across some photos from those times... enjoy!

D-day thoughts and reflections

Yesterday was the 70th anniversary of D-day... When the allies landed on the shores of France under the leadership of Dwight D Eisenhower June 6, 1944.

In modern culture "D-Day" is also donut day... Odd mix to me. The sacrifice of many remembered by a free donut with your coffee?

How did you remember this day? Did you?

Friday morning furips

Good Friday morning everyone!
What are the morning sounds you are accustomed to hear? Because I live in a city, we hear the birds and the squirrels, and trains puffing past and helicopters winging overhead... All around the roar of the interstate.

My cat provides some companionship after my husband leaves for work between 6 and 6:15 a.m. Ari is almost like a long-tailed puppy the way she follows me around.
Today her morning included furripping (furry chirps) with the birds outside.
